About Amy Courter
A veteran business executive, Amy Courter brings three decades of experience to her current position as the founder and chief executive officer of Advanced Materials, Intl Inc. (AMII). Setting up operations with technology from the Department of Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratories, and Michigan State University, the Michigan-based firm will manufacture specialized carbon fiber. In her leadership position, Amy Courter leverages expertise and relationships she has gained through her extensive background in international business.
Amy Courter earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and education from Kalamazoo College before going on to earn postgraduate certificates from Villanova University and Notre Dame University. Prior to founding Advanced Materials Intl, she held a number of key positions with major companies, including serving as the chief information officer for VisionIT and as a consultant to St. John Health Systems. Previously, she spent two decades in senior management positions with Valassis, Inc., a firm which eventually became the publicly-traded Global Marketing Services Corporation.
Outside of her professional life, Amy Courter has made substantial contributions to a number of civic and nonprofit organizations. Currently, she serves as the president of the International Air Cadet Exchange Association.
